Shepherding a Child’s Heart

Tedd Tripp writes a counseling book (Shepherding a Child’s Heart) on how to disciple your child in the biblical view.  This book is directed to parents in order to help them identify their own goals and methods that should be put to practice.  Interesting to note here, the methods that he exposes are so practical and intertwined and so easily be used, but they don’t work because they are not based on the biblical truth.   In the book he explains how the heart of a child needs to be taught, educated when spanking a child for a good reason with a right motivation.  He explains the balance in how and where to spank and at what circumstance, which is biblical teaching.  Spanking a child for a wrong reason with a wrong motivation does not develops a child heart in the right way.  Our culture denies this way of practice but it is something that God instructs a parent to do as they discipline their children.   In the book T...

Rules for sermon writing

Pray without ceasing for clear views of your subject, for help in composition, in committing to memory, and in delivery. Pray without ceasing for the people you are to address. Remember you are to speak to souls who must either be impressed or hardened by the sermon you deliver. Write for Christ and of Christ. Remember that the Holy Spirit not merely can alone show to the heart the things that are Christ’s, but that He must be recognised as doing so by us. Keep the Spirit’s peculiar office and work continually in view. Remember that what you write must have eternal consequences. Write as one who must give an account to Christ for so doing. Write for a people who must give an account to Christ for the manner in which they hear. Never write for the sake of magnifying yourself. Remember the flock of Christ must not be fed with ingenuities, but with the bread of life. Write from the heart with simplicity, plainness (so that a little child may comprehend), and godly sincerity. Pr...

What a blessing to know the true God

Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the  Lord , saying, “I will sing to the  Lord , for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea. The  Lord  is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him. The  Lord  is a man of war; the  Lord  is his name. “Pharaoh's chariots and his host he cast into the sea, and his chosen officers were sunk in the Red Sea. The floods covered them; they went down into the depths like a stone. Your right hand, O  Lord , glorious in power, your right hand, O  Lord , shatters the enemy. In the greatness of your majesty you overthrow your adversaries; you send out your fury; it consumes them like stubble. At the blast of your nostrils the waters piled up; the floods stood up in a heap; the deeps congealed in the heart of the sea. The enemy said, ‘I will...

The Divorce that Should Have Never Taken Place

http://www.divorceanewstart.com/images/child-custody-law-after-or-before-divorce_1.jpg Since most of the people know that I am dating this beautiful girl; however, at the time when I approaching her with a date question, I understood that this is not just a dating question but a marriage question.  So, since then, marriage and family is something that I have been thinking about.  Lately I read an article “The Divorce Generation” by Susan Gregory Thomas on the divorce and how her divorce is different then her parents.  Miss Thomas in the article explains how divorce has an negative affect on children, writing her own experience (when her parents decided to separate), and the children that were around her.  She describes how children's life are shaped negatively when parents make a wrong decision, decision in getting divorce.  Couple of my thoughts on this article: The Article When the couple is talking about divorce, the subject of their conversation is “them...

God is our Refuge and Strength

" God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts. The L ORD  of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah Come, behold the works of the L ORD , how he has brought desolations on the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the chariots with fire. “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” The L ORD  of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah...

Do you know God

The bigger and the more complex of the structure, the harder for other to understand and know about it.  Now take this concept and apply it to God.  It makes it imposible to know who is beyond everything that we could see with our naked eye—someone who is above the stars and galaxies.  By studying stars and galaxies, we know that we (people) know little about stars and galaxies.  Now God created stars and galaxies, and to say that I know God, a being that is above and greater and bigger, make's it an mind boggling statement. That is why God had to become a men (human).  It would be something imposible to know and understand God without Jesus Christ.  To know God is to know Jesus Christ. You might say, I want to know God.  You can, if you know Jesus Christ.  Gospel of John writes these words, "And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent" (17:3).  It is simp...

Desiring God by John Piper

In the introduction of “Desiring God,” John Piper explains how he became Christian Hedonist.  He gives five reasons in how he came to the conclusion that “it is unbiblical and arrogant to try to worship God for any other reason than the pleasure to be had in Him” (18).  Which Piper says that is what Christian Hedonist is all about.   Five reason in why John Piper became a Christian Hedonist: First:   “During my first quarter in seminary, I was introduced to the argument for Christian Hedonism and one of its great exponents, Blaise Pascal”  (19).   Second:   “I had grown to love the work of C.S. Lewis in college.  But not until later did I buy the sermon called ‘The Weight of Glory.’  The first page of that sermon is one of the most influential pages of literature I have ever read”  (19). Third:   “The third insight was there in Lewis’s sermon, but Pascal made it more explicit” (18). Fourth:   “The next insight came agai...

Amazing footage of this world that God Created

There is something bigger then You

You might say, I am tough person.  I discipline myself in my think, action, and I have no problem in knowing what I need to do in life to live.  A thought comes in, I control it.  A decision need’s to be made, no problem, it’s done.  But, there is something bigger and stronger that a person could face with, this something bigger and stronger doesn’t have rules or boundaries that it goes by.  It captures the mind and the heart of the person when all the tough stuff attitude vanishes, disappears and doesn’t even crosses the mind as it did before.   It is not like God didn’t intended this to be as He was creating this world, in fact this was God’s plan in creation.  Every strong man (inside or out side) that faced it, became weak and powerless.  No matter who it is: kings, rich people, philosophers, teachers, body builders, anyone you could think of is not able to with stand this kind of force and power.  We have the first picture in the bibl...

God Speaks

http://amadeo.blog.com/repository/00/00/43/67/436727/1719818.jpg There are times when God is silent and there are times when God speaks.  This reveals how far God goes just to turn the hearts of these people to Himself as they are worshiping idols.  But even with all punishment and wrath that was pored out on these people, the human mind did not understood God and their hearts did not turn from idols to a living real God. "For a long time I have held my peace; I have kept still and restrained myself; now I will cry out like a woman in labor; I will gasp and pant. I will lay waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their vegetation; I will turn the rivers into islands, and dry up the pools. And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them. They are turned back and utterly...

Hell, a subject that is being ignored Today

A time. . .

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3214/2283676770_6b53f8b77f.jpg For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace. . . He has made everything beautiful in its time –– Ecc 3:1-11
