Father and Son Relationship

All of us have fathers who care for us.  Some fathers express more love towards their children then others, but the story of Rick and his dad, makes us see God's love towards us.
Rick was born in 1962, but because of an unsuccessful birth, he was paralyzed of all four limbs.  Do to lack of oxygen, Rick was diagnosed as a spastic quadriplegic with cerebral palsy.  But what makes this story different is the extra mile that Ricks dad took to make his son's life better.

"In the spring of 1977, Rick told his father that he wanted to participate in a 5-mile benefit run for a Lacrosse player who had been paralyzed in an accident. Far from being a long-distance runner, [his dad] agreed to push Rick in his wheelchair and they finished all 5 miles, coming in next to last. That night, Rick told his father, 'Dad, when I'm running, it feels like I'm not handicapped.'

This realization was just the beginning of what would become over 1,000 races completed, including marathons, duathlons and triathlons (6 of them being Ironman competitions). Also adding to their list of achievements, Dick and Rick biked and ran across the U.S. in 1992, completing a full 3,735 miles in 45 days."

When they asked Rick: if you could of given your father one thing, what would it be?  Rick responded, "the thing I'd most like is for my dad to sit in the chair and I would push him for once."

This is an amazing story of Rick, but it also reflect the relationship that we have with our heavenly father.  Do to paralyzed life in sin, God sends his Son to the cross, knowing that we (humans) can never pay back what was done for us.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.  (Ephesians 1:3-4).

Lock Him up with the Bible & the Books

"Fling him into his office. Tear the 'Office' sign from the door and nail on the sign, 'Study.' Take him off the mailing list. Lock him up with his books and his typewriter and his Bible. Slam him down on his knees before texts and broken hearts and the flock of lives of a superficial flock and a holy God.  Force him to be the one man in our surfeited communities who knows about God. Throw him into the ring to box with God until he learns how short his arms are. Engage him to wrestle with God all the night through. And let him come out only when he's bruised and beaten into being a blessing.  Shut his mouth forever spouting remarks, and stop his tongue forever tripping lightly over every nonessential. Require him to have something to say before he dares break the silence. Bend his knees in the lonesome valley.  Burn his eyes with weary study. Wreck his emotional poise with worry for God. And make him exchange his pious stance for a humble walk with God a...
Everyone has an opinion on everything.  Even to say that I don't want to talk about this, says that their is already an opinion why not to talk about this.  Recently I had to answer some hard questions for myself, the questions that I haven't been faced before in my life, it just never needed to be answered.  I know there are more questions that I would have to answer in the future, but that time will come.  So an opinion is good, not unless it is being taken in a demanded form: this is the only way to do this, no other way is the right way. To demand something and ask it to be done, is possible—but it depends on authority that a person possess. Now biblically the authority only in the truth, no authority is in men—that's where the scripture is being tossed around to bash on those who has a different point of view.  If I don't like something, it doesn't mean that I am right and the other person is wrong, it might be the...

THE GIFT OF TONGUES AND TODAY’S MOVEMENT

https://www.wikihow.com/Receive-the-Holy-Spirit-as-per-the-Bible INTRODUCTION A minister at Kids Adventure Camp called a girl to the front because she claimed to have the gift of tongues. About 33 percent of the Pentecostals in the U.S. claim to speak in tongues.   One in 4 Christians identify to be Pentecostals in the States.  The girl ’s  name was Eden.  “Eden,  6 years old, interpreting a word of  tongues.”  The minister, whose name is not given, called her because she had picked a  “spiritual gift”  as a tongue of interpreter in the camp. Since then, her family had been praying for Eden to have this gift that she chose. The minister had confessed that he himself did not have this gift of interpretation. After a small discussion, someone from the crowd prayed in tongues and Eden claimed to know the meaning of that prayer. Eden, who wore a black dress with a pink prize award on her left shoulder, throughout the video picked ...
