Why Job DID NOT cursed God?

http://www.skybluevaping.co.za/image/data/journal/1383-1.jpg
The tone of the conversation was different when Satan appeared before God second time. Not because Satan repented or agreed with God, but because his hypothesis fell short.  Satan just destroyed Jobs wealth and his children (seven sons and three daughters) using evil men, fire, and wind arguing that this was the reason why Job served God in the first place. Job response to his lost was not a cursing God attitude but a humble worship.  “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return.  The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord” (Job 1:20).

When Satan appears before God second time, God asked him the same question as he did in the first conversation,  "'Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?” (Job 2:3). Since what Satan hoped for become eventually not true, arguing with God that there are limit to how far a human will serve and worship You.

To the question that God asked, Satan had an answer, this time it involved human health.  "Then Satan answered the Lord and said, 'Skin for skin! All that a man has he will give for his life.  But stretch out your hand and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you to your face'” (Job 2:4-5).  Instead of attacking Job personally how he did before, Satan attacked human health in general.  Man will give everything he has to have a healthy body, "All that a man has he will give for his life."  This is a true to most of the people.  People are willing to sell their houses, give up their wealth in order to be healthy, humans health is who they are – take away health, you take away life.  So Satan applied his general observation to Job's life.  Job will curse your face God if you take his health away.  God give permission to Satan over Job's health, but set's limits to how far Satan can go.

Now we know there was no reason in the first place to destroy Job wealth and health.  God says, "He still holds fast his integrity, although you incited me agains him to destroy him without reason" (2:3).  There was literally no reason to have Jobs wealth and health to be taken away, if only Job's friends knew that when they were giving their opinion to Job.  The question to why righteous people suffer is a simple answer : there is not reason why.  Maybe there is a general and bigger reason, but it's not revealed to us – God just gave Satan permission. We see similar response in Romans chapter 9.
"Who are you, O man, ago answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, 'Why have you made me like this?' Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump done vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use? (20-21)
Job's response was silence when he had his health taken away, "And he took a piece of broken pottery with which to scrape himself while he sat in the ashes" (Job 2:9).  First time, Job fell on the ground and verbally worshipped, second time, Job fell on the ground and said nothing.

Job's wife, who was not touched by Satan, her self being hurt by the lose of her children, was watching Job suffer. In response she said thisDo you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die" (2:9).  That is exactly what Satan want's Job to due.  Wasn't the whole point of loosing his wealth, children, and now his health for him to see if he will curse God?  Similar to when Satan used Peter tempting Jesus (Matthew 16:23), he is using Job's wife – the whole point was to see will Job curse God or will he not?

Why Job did not cursed God?  Are not people these days when face hardship curse God by their words or attitude?  For example, if a singe Christian girl prays and prays to God to have a spouse in her life, years go by and there is no one. She then goes out and commits adultery or just leaves her faith or church?  Are not guys do the same by getting drunk and watch pornography when what they plan did not happen?  People say, God is not fair? Where was God when this was in my life?  Asking questions is good, but when a question lead to a sinful attitude then it's a cursing attitude –– no tragedy is an excuse to sin.

When we observe what Job says both times in response to his lost, he responds with what he knew of God.

The first respond to his wealth and children loss was a verbal worship.  “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return.  The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord” (1:20). Second time Job said nothing until he was pressured by his closes friend, his wife.  His response to his loathsome sores was slice.  By the way, these are wounds that are open with skin and show bones, Satan said, "But stretch out your hand and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you to your face" (2:5).  Unbearable pain and blood would come out every time you touch the wound, he had lot's of these wounds on his skin, from his foot to the head; every time he was walking or sitting, there was pain.  There was no sitting or laying position that would help Job relieve his pain. No morphine or any type of pain medication was available at that time.  Job response? "He took a piece of broken pottery with which to scrape himself while he sat in the ashes" (2:8). You can't see person suffer more in life, than Job – the whole hell was released on Job to see if he will curse God.  Literally, he just lost everything that he owned, including ten of his children, now he is faced with painful sores on his body. His response was silence.  When his wife saw this, she said curse God and die, to which Job said: "'You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?' In all this Job did not sin with his lips" (2:10).

When we observe Jobs response to his tragedy, it includes the doctrine of God.  Both time he brought God into his suffering, God was connected to his pain.  Job knew that everything that he had was from God, "Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away."  He knew that even evil was not out of God's control, "shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?."  We know that God gave Satan permission twice and set limits to how far Satan can go, Job knew it also.  He had no vision or insight of God and Satan conversation, but his sovereign God.  The reason why Job did not curse God is because he had knowledge of God

Today, we have a superficial Christianity.  People knowledge of God is shallow.  There's lot's of emotions, personal experience come into christian life, but little doctrine – today people don't know God.  And when something strikes unexpectedly, of course the question to follow is, Where was God when this happened to me?

Lock Him up with the Bible & the Books

"Fling him into his office. Tear the 'Office' sign from the door and nail on the sign, 'Study.' Take him off the mailing list. Lock him up with his books and his typewriter and his Bible. Slam him down on his knees before texts and broken hearts and the flock of lives of a superficial flock and a holy God.  Force him to be the one man in our surfeited communities who knows about God. Throw him into the ring to box with God until he learns how short his arms are. Engage him to wrestle with God all the night through. And let him come out only when he's bruised and beaten into being a blessing.  Shut his mouth forever spouting remarks, and stop his tongue forever tripping lightly over every nonessential. Require him to have something to say before he dares break the silence. Bend his knees in the lonesome valley.  Burn his eyes with weary study. Wreck his emotional poise with worry for God. And make him exchange his pious stance for a humble walk with God a...

Why Do an Altar Call?

Altar call is described as a religious method that helps a person to confess Christ publicly. The problem with this method is that altar call is not described in the bible. When three thousand people received Christ during Peter’s preaching, most likely no one came forward to confess Christ publicly (Acts 2:41). The confession was there, yet walking forward down the aisle was not there. These days, when an alter call takes place, music is plays in the background. Preacher might say a sad story followed with a tear. Some even have counselors walk forward to motivate others to do the same. Thus, altar call is a method that is not described in the Bible leading us to question if this method should be practiced in churches at all?     Altar call began in the 1800’s. Preachers created a mourner’s bench as an area for people to walk forward when an altar call was called. The Methodist evangelists have invented this method, yet Charles Finney was the one who gave a title al...

Interpreting the Bible

The Right Hermeneutics   To understand the Bible (that was written about 2000 years ago), requires the right hermeneutics. The majority of Old Testament was written in Hebrew and the New Testament was written in Greek. 2000 years separates us from the day of Apostles (New Testament), but the Old Testament books were written long before that. Today we can see how cults use the bible to defense their heresies. Bible is read through out the world in many languages and not every person who teaches the bible have a seminary degree. Bible itself was not intended to be used by educated or scholarly people. John wrote, “The anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things” (1 John 2:27). Yet having stated that, ignorance is not an excuse to make dramatic interpretation mistakes. Bible is not a book to have it be used anyway someone desires to.  In fact, Bible as a book did...
