Wisdom calls

“Proverbs 8:1-36” “To you, O men, I call, and my cry is to the children of man. Hear, for I will speak noble things,  and from my lips will come what is right, for my mouth will utter truth; wickedness is an abomination to my lips. . . Take my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold. . . I have counsel and sound wisdom; I have insight; I have strength. By me kings reign, and rulers decree what is just; by me princes rule, and nobles, all who govern justly. “The LORD possessed me at the beginning of his work, the first of his acts of old. Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth. When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water. Before the mountains had been shaped, before the hills, I was brought forth, before he had made the earth with its fields, or the first of the dust of the world. When he established the heavens, I was there; when he drew a circle on the face of t...

My Happy Confession of Having No Merit

This is my confession: I was born into a believing family through no merit of my own at all. I was given a mind to think and a heart to feel through no merit of my own at all. I was brought into the hearing of the gospel through no merit of my own at all. My rebellion was subdued, my hardness removed, my blindness overcome, and my deadness awakened through no merit of my own at all. Thus I became a believer in Christ through no merit of my own at all. And so I am an heir of God with Christ through no merit of my own at all. Now when I put forward effort to please the Lord who bought me, this is to me no merit at all, because ...it is not I, but the grace of God that is with me. (1 Corinthians 15:10) ...God is working in me that which is pleasing in his sight. (Hebrews 13:21) ...he fulfills every resolve for good by his power. (2 Thessalonians 1:11) And therefore there is no ground for boasting in myself, but only in God’s mighty grace. Let him who boasts, boast ...

Life after Death?

“National Geographic: Moment of Death” The “National Geographic: Moment of Death” documentary is a way to explain death from the scientific perspective, or give some explanation for it.  This documentary was well done in presenting the subject on death from all different angels.  The patients and doctors spoke honestly on what they truly knew, believe, and experience.  There was enough evidence given to draw some conclusion on death.  Patients, coming near death spoke on what they saw, and you cannot just say their experience was just a hallucination.  How do you explain a situation in which a patient left his body during surgery and saw how the nurses and doctors performed the surgery?   This documentary showed patients in the hospitals dieing, those moments that people faced or will be facing--everyone who is once born to life will have to die.  What is interesting here is what doctors have to say about people leaving their bod...

Life

A generation goes, and a generation comes, but the earth remains forever.  The sun rises, and the sun goes down, and hastens to the place where it rises.  The wind blows to the south and goes around to the north; around and around goes the wind, and on its circuits the wind returns.  All streams run to the sea, but the sea is not full; to the place where the streams flow, there they flow again.  All things are full of weariness; a man cannot utter it; the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.  What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done,  and there is nothing new under the sun.  (Ecclesiastes 1:4-9)

Joseph wept as he meets his younger brother Benjamin

"When Joseph came home, they [his brothers] brought into the house to him the present that they had with them and bowed down to him to the ground.  And he inquired about their welfare and said, “Is your father well, the old man of whom you spoke? Is he still alive?”  They said, “Your servant our father is well; he is still alive.” And they bowed their heads and prostrated themselves.  And he lifted up his eyes and  saw  his brother Benjamin, his mother's son, and said, “Is this your youngest brother, of whom you spoke to me? God be gracious to you, my son!”  Then Joseph hurried out, for his compassion grew warm for his brother, and  he sought a place to weep . And he entered his chamber and  wept  there.  Then he washed his face and came out. And controlling himself he said, “Serve the food.”  They served him by himself, and them by themselves, and the Egyptians who ate with him by themselves, because the Egyptians could not eat wi...

My two cent on Osama bin Laden's Death

A sense of pride and comfort came to Americans heart yesterday as they herd the President of United States make a speech on the killing of Osama bin Laden.  The man who claims to be responsible for September 11 attack which killed nearly 3,000 people.  A day a victory and a day that will take us to an new chapter of the book.  However, the killing of Osama bin Laden raises questions that are not answered, yet. It all started as one of the " Central Intelligence Agency drove up behind a white Suzukinavigating the bustling streets near Peshawar, Pakistan, and wrote down the car’s license plate."  Say's Mark Mazzetti at The New York Times.  "The man in the car was Bin Laden’s most trusted courier, and over the next month C.I.A. operatives would track him throughout central Pakistan." However, the area in where Osama bin Laden was located questions the Pakistan authority, since that's where he was found.  BBC News write on how the silence of Pakistan secur...

God's wonderful Nature

What does the bible says on John Paul II being Beatified?

John Paul II was declared blessed in today's ritual, a person who died six years ago.  One of the big reasons in why he was declared blessed is because of the healing that happened after his prayer.  BBC news write, "'Appearing at a vigil on Saturday, she told the crowd: 'I was cured on the night between June 2 and June 3, 2005.  'I woke up at four in the morning and felt that something had changed in me.'"  Now understand this, in order for her to go publicly about this, and have so many people be involved, there were lot's of medical Doctors examining her case if she was right.  It would not be good for the reputation of the Religion when next morning in some local news paper someone would write how it was a fraud.  This event drew millions of people to Rome.  As the article writes, "Police in Rome estimated that one million people had come to the city for the event, including large numbers of pilgrims from the late Pope's native ...

Take refuge in the Lord

Most of the Psalms are so uplifting; when you read them, it's just  like drinking a cold water in the hot sunny desert. Well, this is one of these Psalms, I just drew few verses out since it's little to long, but does present a clear picture in what the Psalmist wanted to say. Psalm 37 " Fret not yourself because of evildoers;   be not envious of wrongdoers!   For they will soon fade like the grass   and wither like the green herb.   Trust in the LORD, and do good;   dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.    Delight yourself in the LORD,   and he will give you the desires of your heart.   Commit your way to the LORD;   trust in him, and he will act.   He will bring forth your righteousness as the. . .   But the meek shall inherit the land    and delight themselves in abundant peace. light,   and your justice as the noonday.   The wicked plots against the righteous ...

A reminder to all that we are not in Charge

Tornado is sweeping across the United States damaging houses, business, and taking humans lives.   People saying that this is the worst storm ever that they know of:  "’We have never experienced such a major weather event in our history,’ the Tennessee Valley Authority said in a statement.”   The BBC news say that there are around 300 tornado's appeared since Friday:  “The US National Weather Service has reports of nearly 300 tornadoes since the storms began on Friday, more than 150 of them on Wednesday alone., and that’s a lot.”  Because of this, there were “2,000 soldiers scoured the wreckage for survivors.”  President of the United State is focusing on bringing help to the people: “state of emergency has been declared in seven states, and federal aid money is being sent to Alabama.”   But this is not over, more storms are coming, “Storms have hit states across the southern US for weeks, and another major storm system is forecast to bring heavy r...

The Steps of Jesus

Communion   The steps of Jesus is the reminder for us all. Taking the cup and eating the bread serves as reminder of what Jesus did on the cross; the Father forgave the sinner, was satisfied in his holiness as He pored the wrath on his Son. You might ask, why would He do that? Why kill His own Son? Well it's because of who He is, and it's because of who we are.  God by nature is love, and by nature is holy--on the cross these two sides meet.  The cross of Christ reflects holiness and incomparable love; humans are lost, guilty, fall short in our own righteousness; everywhere we look, we see murder, hatred, and crime, but that is only from our human perspective--from God perspective the scale is much higher.  Every person that comes into the earth, comes in to the earth guilty, sinners before God (Romans 5:12). Being a sinner, guilty before God, Jesus however, makes an intervention for those who believe in Him. "Yet he bore the sin of many, and ma...

The Branch on the Vine

Some people say that you could walk away from the faith in Christ; and suppose that this is true, you cannot say this according the John 15:1-8 passage which is being quoted the most in this argument. The vine that does not have fruit in reality does not have Christ. First of all, we need to understand what Jesus is saying in this passage. Jesus illustrates himself, the Father, and the his followers: His father being a vinedresser, He is the vine, and his followers are the branches. At the beginning of his illustration, Jesus makes a statement; that there are two branches that are coming out of Him, both of those branches are His. Jesus says, “Every branch of mine” (2), in other words, when Jesus later makes the statement that the vinedresser cuts away the unfruitful branch and it is thrown in to the fire for it to burn because of no fruit, this branch is somehow connected to the vine. Note that the only connection that this branch has is the appearance, and nothing else. T...
